Well, fall weather has finally arrived in my area, and with these cooler temperatures, comes even more excitement for fall/winter clothing, and trying a few different fall/winter makeup looks.  I’ve been featuring quite a few fall outfits on the blog lately, so today, I decided to share four lipstick colors that are perfect for fall.  One of the easiest and quickest ways to transition your makeup from season to season is to change your lip color to one that represents the warmth or coolness of the season.

There are many great fall lip colors available, but finding a lip color that suits you and your makeup style is not always easy.  I personally like more neutral lip colors, and I will often mix it up with more vibrant colors depending on what I’m wearing, and where I’m going.  In today’s post, I’m sharing a couple of somewhat neutral fall lip colors, a lipstick filled with fall color, and one that to me is a perfect blend of the two.  The two somewhat neutral colors I like are MAC Satin Mocha, and MAC Matte Kinda Sexy.  Both of these lip colors have a more neutral tone with a nice hint of color.  They both can be paired with the MAC Spice Lip Pencil to not only define the lip, but also highlight the lip color.  When I want a pop of color on my lip for this fall, I usually go for my MAC Matte D For Danger lip color with my MAC Cherry Lip Pencil.  I love this color, because it combines the warmth of wine and burgundy tones, with a tad bit of red.  It adds a pop of color without taking over the rest of my makeup.  My last favorite go to fall lip color, is an oldie but goody, and it is my MAC Viva Glam V.  This lip color is perfect when you want a more subdued pop of fall lip color.  To me, it is a warm color with a neutral base, and a hint of a warm pink.  I like to pair it with my MAC Cork Lip Pencil to add even more warmth to the lip color, and compliment the hint of pink.

When wearing some of fall’s hottest lip colors, lip stain, when changing lip colors, can often be a problem because of the strong pigment in many of the warmer lip shades.   In today’s “Beauty Guide”, I’m sharing a few ways you can prime and prep your lips for the perfect lip color application, limit lip stain, and easily remove your lip color at the end of the day.

Beauty Guide:  How To Limit Lip Stain

Start With A Smooth Foundation:  The perfect lip color application starts with a smooth foundation.  I personally love to use Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, to exfoliate and smooth my lips 2 – 3 times per week.

Prime The Lip:  To limit lip color stain, and enhance the wearability of your lip color, it’s a great idea to prime the lip before applying your lip color.  I like to use a simple concealer that I already have in my makeup bag.  My go to concealer is MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer.  Using a concealer also neutralizes any uneven tones in your lips, and allows your lip color to go on evenly and balanced without deeply penetrating or fully staining your natural lip color.

Use A Good Lip Color Remover:  To limit lip stain, it’s a great idea to remove your lip color at the end of the day with a makeup remover designed to be used on the lip.  I really love Bobbi Brown Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover that is perfect for removing all makeup including lip color.  It’s gentle and easy to use, and it’s non-drying to the skin and lips.

I hope these “Beauty Guide” tips will help you perfectly apply your fall lip color and limit lip stain.
