At some point, we all get a little bored with the clothes in our closet, and we even get bored with how we style them.  Getting stuck in an outfit styling rut is very common, and one way to get out of that rut, is to try different ways of styling your looks.  One way to mix things up, is by trying color blocking.  Color blocking is a quick way to change up an outfit, and add a little more style at the same time.

When it comes to color blocking, I like to start with a color block piece like the turtleneck that I’m wearing and then build the outfit from there, but there are also other ways to style a color block look, and in today’s “Style Guide,” I’m sharing four tips for color blocking your outfit.

Style Guide:  4 Tips For Color Blocking Your Outfits

Avoid Sharp Contrasts In Colors – Try to stay with colors that organically pair well together.

Use The Color Wheel – Using the color wheel here will help you to choose colors that form perfect color combinations.

Start With One Color Block Piece – This will give you a good foundation to build the rest of your look around.

Try To Stick With A Range Of Three Colors – This will ensure that your look is not overbearing, and will help you avoid a color blocking style blunder.

If you’re looking for ways to spice up your outfits, I hope you found these color blocking tips helpful.  For today’s look, I paired my Pink Coat (Old), similar here, here and here, with my Color Block Turtleneck and my Vegan Leather Pants (Sold Out); similar here, here, and here.  I added my Snake Print Pumps (Old); similar here, and my Michael Kors Crossbody Bag (Old); newer style here as accessories.
