If you’ve seen any of the spring fashion previews, or checked out any fashion magazines or spring clothing store ads lately, you’ve probably noticed that floral prints are going to be a thing this spring.   I’m personally still trying to determine just how much of this trend I will incorporate into my wardrobe, but I’ve noticed that I’m drawn to more neutral toned floral prints like this fun floral midi skirt from ASOS.

L1000510As you may have seen on the blog here, the midi skirt is truly my preferred skirt style.  I like midi skirts because to me they are feminine, and they have an air of elegance and grace.  They can also be styled in many ways, and today, I decided to add a little edge to this look by pairing this ASOS Quilted Floral Jacquard Midi Skirt with my Express Quilted Shoulder Minus The Leather Jacket, worn over my ASOS Off The Shoulder Tee.  I added my Ann Taylor Kristi Bootie, and my Louis Vuitton Pochette bag to complete the look.

There are many ways to include floral pieces in your outfit, and if you’re uneasy about wearing floral prints in general, I suggest starting out slowly with muted florals in neutral colors, or small floral pieces or an accessory like a scarf.  Next you can try wearing floral pieces that can be paired with and grounded by a solid item.  This is a great way to stylishly wear florals without feeling overdone.  As you get more comfortable with floral pieces, you may find yourself experimenting with more floral looks, or getting into the floral trend this spring.
