As we enter the last month of the Autumn season, and Thanksgiving Day has arrived, in today’s post, I’m sharing a look styled with autumn colors, and also sharing a few things I’ve learned about giving thanks.

For most of us celebrating Thanksgiving includes feasting on delicious food, four day weekends, football games, family gatherings and ushering in the start of Christmas festivities.  Over time the meaning of Thanksgiving has undergone many transitions, and the way it is celebrated may have even changed in your family, but one thing has remained constant, and that is the expression of gratitude and the desire to give thanks that is embodied in the observance of the day.  I was recently reading a few articles about ways to express gratitude and give thanks, and I thought I would share with you three of the ideas that stuck out for me in the articles.

    Three Ideas For Giving Thanks

Adopt An Attitude Of Humility – As with most things in life, we must begin by looking within.  The first step of developing an inward attitude of humility is to realize that we are not more important than anyone else, and to reject any thoughts of entitlement or privilege.  One of the articles I read, stated that adopting this mindset, allows you to shift your life from demands and expectations to acceptance and satisfaction, and this then leads to a greater appreciation for life, and a natural tendency of thankfulness for any and all things in your life.

Embrace A Spirit Of Gratitude – The attitude of humility will naturally lead to a spirit of gratitude.  A good way to embrace gratitude , is to create a gratitude list.  Write down all of the things you are grateful for, and figure out ways to share those things with others.

Express Thanks Through Giving –  One of the articles I read states that recognizing the things you are grateful for in your life, and sharing those things with others can be very gratifying.  Some simple ways to express thanks through giving is to volunteer or donate to your favorite charity or organization.  The fulfillment you experience through these activities with only further nurture your quest for giving.

I hope today’s post has given you a few ideas for giving thanks this holiday season.  For today’s look, I paired my camel coat (old, similar here, here, and here), and my white ruched sleeve blouse with my crepe wide leg pants.  I added my suede ankle strap pumps (old, similar here, and here), and my leopard clutch.  You can shop the items or similar items in this post, by clicking the links above in “Outfit Details,” or by clicking the photos below in “Shop This Post”, or you can visit the Shop Fashion Page here.

As always, thanks so much for reading, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
