Florence, Italy & A Day In Cinque Terre

After visiting Rome during our tour of Italy, we headed off to Florence, where we stayed at the St. Regis Florence for two days. During our first day in Florence, we spent the day enjoying the beauty of the capital city of the Tuscan region. We visited some of the iconic sights of the city, including the Duomo, the main church of Florence, and the Galleria dell’Accademia, which displays Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture. We then had an amazing lunch at the Mercato Centrale, which is a market that serves and sells delicious Italian cuisine.

On our second day in Florence, we decided to take a full day excursion to Cinque Terre, which is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the Italian Riviera coastline.  In each of the five towns, colorful houses and vineyards are surrounded by steep terraces, and harbors filled with fishing boats and trattorias.

For the Cinque Terre excursion, I paired my Style Mafia Finn Top with my J. Crew Cropped Pants.  For comfort, I wore my Adidas Stan Smith Sneaker, and added my Gucci Mini Dionysus GG Supreme bag, and my Lack of Color Straw Hat.  It was a pretty warm day, so this cool and airy top was perfect for the day, and the sneakers definitely made the walks through the villages much more comfortable.  The day started pretty early, and as it wore on, it was great to have my straw hat handy.  It was perfect for shading the sun, and protecting my skin.  For me, when traveling, comfort and convenience are key, and it’s always nice when you can find items that are both fashionable and functional.
