As you’ve probably seen from my recent social media posts, I’ve been traveling quite a bit over the last few weeks.  Our first trip was our family vacation to the Cote d’Azure in the South of France and Italy, and our first stop was Nice, France.  We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Le Negresco, and on our first full day in Nice, we took a tour of Antibes and Cannes.  My favorite part of the tour that day, was our visit to Antibes, which is a picture perfect-postcard seaside resort town, that hugs the shores of the Mediterranean between Nice and Cannes.  Before heading out on our tour, we had a wonderful breakfast in the lovely La Rotunde, and took some time to enjoy the beautiful hotel lobby.

The picturesque town of Antibes is filled with quaint little streets and restaurants, and during our tour we casually walked down the lovely little side streets, strolled through their amazing farmers market, and visited the Picasso Museum.  The resort town of Antibes, is known for two things, multi-million-dollar mega yachts, and a maze-like old town.  It is the Cote d’Aure’s second largest town, and is home to approximately 80,000 inhabitants, as well as the largest marina in the Mediterranean Sea, Port Vauban, which has been attracting ships of different varieties since before the times of the Roman Empire.  We truly enjoyed touring this town, and taking in all of it’s beauty before heading off to Cannes.

Having traveled to Europe a couple of times now, I’ve definitely learned a few travel tips that I think might be helpful for anyone planning a trip to Europe for the first time.  When traveling out of the country, you want to be as prepared as possible, so that your trip can run smoothly, and you can fully enjoy yourself.  In today’s “Travel Guide,” I’m sharing four travel tips for traveling to Europe.

Travel Guide:  4 Travel Tips For Traveling To Europe

Get Travel Insurance – When making your travel checklist, be sure to add travel insurance to the list.  Although, many people feel travel insurance is not necessary, there are so many circumstances that can cause you to cancel your trip, return home early, or seek medical treatment while traveling, and travel insurance can provide protection in almost all of these cases.  Also, travel insurance can cover delayed or lost bags, and supplement or cover any medical expenses you may incur when your existing medical coverage is not accepted or is inadequate.  We use our travel agency or AAA to purchase our travel insurance.

Have The Correct Currency –  Credit and bank cards are handy when traveling to Europe, but in some cases, it may not be possible to pay by card, so it’s important to always have some cash in the correct currency on hand.  You can get local currency (Euros) from a currency exchange in the United States or Europe.  I recommend getting it at your local airport before traveling if available, and if you have time.

Pack International Adapters – Simple things like charging your phones and other electronics, using hair dryers, curling irons, and other items, can be a challenge if you don’t have the right adapters.  Some hotels may provide one for you, but one may not be enough, and you can’t always rely on this as an option. You can purchase these adapters when you arrive, but I recommend getting them before you travel, and making sure you have the right adapters for the country you will be visiting.  I like this travel adapter kit here.

Travel With A Steamer –  Imagine arriving at your hotel to find that they do not provide irons, only a pressing service, that can take some time to return your clothes, and that can be very expensive.  This is what happened to us on our first trip to Europe a couple of years ago.  As they say “Experience is the best teacher,” so, on our trip this time, we were prepared with our own personal steamer.  I love this one here for travel and for using at home.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and I hope you found these travel tips for Europe helpful.  For this tour day look, I paired my ruffle sleeve top (old), similar here, here and here, with my striped wide leg side slit pants (Sold Out), similar here, here, here and here.  I added my Ankle Strap Espadrille Wedge (Old), similar here, here and here, and my Round Leather Crossbody Bag as accessories.  You can shop the specific items I’m wearing or similar items that I love, by clicking the links above in “Outfit Details,” by clicking the photos below in “Shop This Post,” and by visiting the “Shop Fashion” page here.

As always, thanks so much for reading!
