When we planned our family vacation to France and Italy, our goal was to try to see as much as we could, but doing only a couple of organized day tours, and using the other time to just wander and explore on our own.  While in France, we spent one day touring Antibes and Cannes, which you can read about here, and our other organized tour was to Monaco and Eze.  The tour drive was simply beautiful, and filled with views of the natural beauty of this area in France.

During our drive to Monaco, we stopped in Villefrance to enjoy some breathtaking views.  When we arrived in Monaco, we spent time touring the beautiful grounds of the Prince’s Palace, and walked the lovely grounds of the fortress.  After having a quick lunch on the grounds, we moved on to visit the Monte Carlo casino, and then headed to the Village of Eze.  Eze is a well known tourist site on the french riviera, and was also one of my most favorite places to see on the tour.  This small medieval village is known for its beauty, charm, and breathtaking view of the sea from its hill top.  Packing for our ten day vacation to multiple places was somewhat of a challenge, but knowing we were going to be doing some touring and quite a bit of walking, I made sure that I packed things that would definitely allow me to be comfortable.  I have a few things that I consider summer travel essentials, and in today’s “Travel Guide,” I’m sharing my five summer travel essentials.

Travel Guide:  My 5 Summer Travel Essentials

A Crossbody Bag – A crossbody bag is a must when you are touring and sightseeing.  They allow you to carry your necessities, without being burdened with a large bag.  A couple of my favorite crossbody bags for summer travel in addition to the one I’m carrying in this post are here, here and here.

A Sun Hat – If you’ll be spending time outside, a sun hat is another must have.  I prefer sun hats with wide brims like the one I’m carrying in this post, but I also love these hats here, here, and here.

A Linen Wrap – When traveling having a summer wrap handy is perfect for those times when you pop in a restaurant for lunch or dinner, or for cooler nights out.  Here are a few linen wraps I love here, here and here.

Comfortable Shoes – As I’m sure you already know, comfortable shoes are always a must when traveling.  I generally like to wear low heel wedge sandals like the ones I’m wearing in the post, but I also like these here, here, and here.

A Good Pair of Sunglasses – A good pair of sunglasses are definitely an essential for me when traveling and touring.  In addition to protecting your eyes, they will definitely help you see and enjoy the outdoors more.  In addition to the fun sunglasses I’m wearing in this post, I also love these here, here and here.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post, and I hope my travel essentials list gave you a few ideas for your summer next trip.  For this tour day look, I paired my ruffle sleeve top (no longer available), similar here, here, and here with my striped wide leg pants (just sold out) similar here, here, here and here.  I accessorized with my wedge sandals (old) similar here, my straw crossbody bag, my straw hat, and my cream fun sunnies.  You can shop the specific items I’m wearing or similar items that I love, by clicking the links above in “Outfit Details,” by clicking the photos below in “Shop This Post,” and by visiting the “Shop Fashion” page here.
