If you’re old enough to remember 70’s fashions, or if you’ve seen fashion photos or maybe even family photos from this decade, you will certainly be familiar with one of this season’s hottest prints, gingham, which was seen on many of the Spring ’15 runways.  This print is not only making a comeback, it’s giving many other spring prints a run for their money, and it’s being dubbed spring 2015’s most popular print.  I added this all-American print to my outfit, and today, I’m sharing a few tips on how to wear this season’s go-to-print.

This season, gingham’s cool feel, and classic look can add a touch of retro chic to any outfit.  If you’ve seen it, like it, and are thinking about wearing gingham this spring and summer, here IMG_2846.jpgare a few ways to incorporate this fresh print into your wardrobe.

    1.  Limit the gingham pairing to no more than a couple of colors – To allow this print to stand out, keep the color pairing with gingham to a minimum and increase it’s style value. A nice bold color with gingham for spring and summer can look great.

    2.  Stick with classic shades – If this print makes you a little nervous, stick with classic shades like black, blue, and red.  This will keep it simple and make any other pairing choices easy.

    3.  Pair gingham with classic pieces – Because this powerful print can easily stand on it’s own, it doesn’t necessarily need a lot to make it pop.  A simple top, tee or blouse, a classic jacket (jean or other), blazer or trench can be all that is needed to complete a look.

    4.  Add more gingham – If you are comfortable with this print, go all out and pair it with another gingham piece (top, belt, even shoes).  Look for pieces that compliment each other in IMG_2813.jpgpattern and color.

Be sure to share any ideas you have on wearing gingham this spring.  I would love to hear from you.

    As always, thanks for reading!
