  • Holiday Hosting Tips And Tools & Gift Ideas For The Home

This time of year, many people find themselves hosting family for the holidays, or hosting holiday events.  Whether you’re hosting a large family gathering or a small cocktail or dinner party, you want everything to be perfect.  So, in today’s post, I’m sharing a few holiday hosting tips and tools that also make great home gift ideas for the year round hostess on your gift list.

To help you survive your hosting duties this holiday season and beyond, here are a few hosting tips designed to make your holiday gathering or event stress free.

Make A List – Making a list and living by the list, is sure to help minimize the stress of your organizing and planning.

Cook Ahead – If you are preparing the food yourself, determine which items on your menu can be prepared ahead of time (soups, stews, quiches, and tarts are great items to prepare ahead), and prepare them early to limit cooking overload on the day of your event.

Stock Up On Holiday Party Staples – Even if you hire a caterer, you can never have enough nibbles, like cookies, crackers, and nuts.

Keep Drinks Handy – As far as beverages go, it’s always smart to stock up on soda and mixers.  Make sure to have coffee (regular and decaf), cocoa, cider and a basket of teas handy. Keep your bar stocked with vodka, rum and a few choices of wine.

Go All Out With Your Home Decor – Add special holiday decor items to your tablescape, bar area, and kitchen.  These little touches always seem to add to the festive mood.

Add Festive Sounds –  Enhance the mood with a playlist of holiday songs.

I hope these holiday hosting tips come in handy.  Below are a few hosting tools that are perfect for any holiday gathering, and that can make a great gift for anyone on your gift list.  You can also shop these items by visiting  the Shop Lifestyle Page here.
