We all have those days when we stand staring blankly into our closets thinking, what am I going to wear. This decision is often complicated by a day ahead filled with a variety of activities ranging from business, business casual, and/or simply casual. For me, there’s always one piece that can make the rounds on almost any day, and it’s a cape.
You’ve seen me wear capes many times on the blog (see them here), and I truly believe it’s a fall and winter piece that can make outfit planning quick and easy. You can pair a cape with a dress, skirt, pants or jeans, or layer them over a sweater or jacket, and they will definitely make any outfit look chic and pulled together. Because capes come in a variety of designs, you can style them in a variety of ways for just about anything you have going on. For this look, I paired this ASOS Heritage Check Cape, with my GAP Denim Western Shirt, and my Loft Flare Jeans. I completed the outfit with my ANN Taylor Kristi Bootie, and my Michael Kors Selma Saffiano bag. This cape is so versatile, that I can see myself wearing it with everything from a gray sweater dress, to black leather pants.
