I’ve always been a fan of denim because it never goes out of fashion, and as far as styling goes, there are endless possibilities. Now, although I own quite a bit of denim, one of the things I wanted to add to my wardrobe was a denim dress. Well, I found one, and in today’s post, I’m sharing a few tips on how to style a denim midi dress. I personally love a midi length dress because of it’s classic and effortless style, and it definitely makes a statement when combined with the timeless appeal of denim.
I love this ASOS denim midi dress because it can be worn with or without a top, and it can be worn beyond the current season. I also like that it is fitted in the waist, with a fuller bottom, which gives it a perfect shape to balance out the longer length. Pairing it with the Indigo BR Striped Modal Tee for somewhat of a transition to fall, and the red mid heel ankle strap sandal and crossbody bag were easy choices for me because I felt the colors played well together.
The in between length of a midi dress can be very stylish and ultra flattering when styled appropriately. When shopping for a casual midi dress, like a denim midi dress, I look for dresses that are low maintenance and somewhat versatile. A denim midi dress can be very easy to style, and worn through many seasons. For today’s “Style Guide”, here are a few tips for styling a denim midi dress that you might find helpful.
Style Guide: How To Style A Denim Midi Dress
Keep It Simple – Because the fabric and the length of a denim dress combined can be somewhat heavy, keep the styling and accessories simple. This allows the style to really stand out without being overwhelmed by too many added items.
Add A Mid-Heel Shoe Or Ankle Boot – Proportions are key when styling any type of midi dress, and because of the mid -calf length that can often cut off the body, it’s important to elongate the body with a mid-heel shoe or higher.
Keep It Casual – With a denim midi dress, you don’t want to combine shoes or accessories that are to dressed for the look. Keep it casual when it comes to accessories, and add a simple shoe, bag or jewelry.
Add A Pop Of Color – A pop of color is always nice with denim. Just be careful not to overwhelm the look with too many colors or too much color.
