As we celebrate Memorial Day, a time for remembering all those who lost their lives in times of war, it’s fitting that we feel a sense of pride in dressing in ways that demonstrate our patriotism. I’m celebrating the day with family and friends and incorporating a little red in my surroundings with my blue and white outfit for the day. One of my favorite fabrics, gingham, always seems perfect for gatherings this time of year, and it’s also ideal for warm weather looks.
For a Memorial Day out and about, I wore this Topshop Gingham Cotton Blend Cold Shoulder Shirt, with my J. Crew Cropped Wide Leg Pants. I wore my Lucky Brand Espadrille Wedge, and carried my Loft Pom Pom Straw Bag. I really love this top, not only because of the fabric, but also because of the cold shoulder ties. They definitely add a twist to the cold shoulder look. I also like that this shirt can be worn tucked in, on the outside, or half in and half out as I wore it. It’s perfect to pair with pants, skirts, jeans or shorts. The Loft Pom Pom Straw Bag is great for summer season outings, and even perfect for beach vacation travel.
