I recently attended a fabulous Hawaiian themed event, and of course when deciding what to wear, I wanted to include something that was a symbol or reference to the Hawaiian culture.  Having visited the Hawaiian islands quite a bit, I  was aware that the Hawaiian pineapple is one of the most recognized tropical fruits from Hawaii, so when I saw this pineapple skirt, it quickly became the major piece for my outfit.  Now, although I purchased the skirt to wear to this event, what I love most about the skirt is that it can also be worn beyond the event, anywhere, and all summer.

For this look, I paired my Ann Taylor Pineapple Skirt with my Loft Off The Shoulder Top.  I accessorized with my Dolce Vita ‘Nova’ Espadrille Wedge, and my WHBM Straw Clutch.  The skirt was perfect for the Hawaiian themed event, but I will definitely wear it many ways, and many places this summer.  The skirt can also be worn with a black and white stripe tee or off the shoulder top, or it can be paired with a black tank or top for a little different look.  Espadrille wedge sandals have become my sandal of the summer, because they are both stylish and comfortable, and they can be found in a variety of styles and colors.  These Dolce Vita ‘Nova’ Espadrille Wedge sandals can be worn with everything from skirts, dresses and cropped pants, to skinny jeans and shorts.  Wedge sandals are a great alternative to stilettos, and they can instantly update your outfit.  If you have an espadrille wedge sandal, or are thinking about purchasing a pair, here are a few options for wearing this super stylish footwear.

Wear Your Wedges With Dresses – Wedge sandals look great with long or short dresses.

Wear Your Wedges With Skirts – When wearing your wedges with skirts, steer clear of anything too form fitting.  Because wedges can appear chunky, if they are paired with anything that fits close to the body, it can give your look a clunky or unflattering appearance.

Wear Your Wedges With Jeans Or Pants – Wearing your wedges with jeans or pants can be a classic option.  If you want to show off your wedge, go for a skinny jean or cropped jean or pant style.

Wear Your Wedges With Shorts – Wedges work well when worn with shorts of any length, and will look best with shorts that are not too fitted.
