I love to travel, and for many reasons, one of my favorite places to visit is Hawaii. Although, I have visited a few of the Hawaiian Islands, I enjoy Oahu the most because to me it includes both the feeling of city life, with amazing shopping, and island life, with beautiful beaches, so you kind of get the best of both worlds. Sometimes traveling can be somewhat of a worldwind, from trying to see and do everything on your list, to finding some time to simply relax and enjoy your surroundings.
One of my favorite things to do when I unwind on vacation is to relax by the pool. While in Hawaii on this visit, I stayed at the Marriott Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa, and I enjoyed some time poolside in one of their lovely poolside cabanas. The pool area at the hotel is simply amazing, and full of beautiful palm trees, making it feel even more like a tropical paradise. There are a couple of freshwater pool areas, and it is the perfect place to take in some sun, enjoy a rejuvenating swim, and/or just sit poolside with a tropical drink and enjoy yourself. Some of my favorite things to do poolside are to read a good book or magazine, listen to music, and sometimes just people watch.
For me, a poolside look has to be comfortable and easily transition from poolside to a walk on the beach or shopping in or around the resort. This stripe shirt dress served as the perfect cover up, and is a perfect transition piece. I paired it with my yellow swimsuit, and grabbed my white crisscross slides, straw hat, and aviator sunglasses as accessories. This was such a great day by the pool enjoying delicious food, great drinks, and beautiful views.
