  • Several Shades Of Gray – How To Wear A Monochrome Look

With hopes that the winter weather will soon end, I am beginning to organize my clothes for spring, and my closet is in somewhat of a transition.  Opting for a monochrome look for the day was quick and simple to pull together, because the pieces were easy to find once I decided on the color.  Wearing one solid color from head-to-toe, may seem like a bit much, but focusing on the right shades can make it fun and fashionable.  Here are a few things to consider when wearing a monochrome look anytime of year.

Mix and match a balance of tones – The highs and lows of the shade will help the outfit flow and keep it from IMG_2489.2.jpglooking poured on.

Add in different textures – Textures like faux fur, tweeds, suede and leather will give the matching colors some variety and style.

Wear a lighter shade of the hue on the top or bottom – The shade variance from top and bottom will provide a break in color.

Minimize matching accessories – Avoid overwhelming the outfit with too many matching accessories.  One or two accessories of the same shade is best.

Soften the one color look for spring and summer – For spring and summer monochrome looks, try pinks, minty greens and blues.  Whites and pastels paired with other soft colors are always good options as well.

    Have a great day!         IMG_2484.jpg                                   IMG_2506.jpg                                     IMG_2506.crop.jpg
