Whenever the dull, dreary days of winter are around, I often look for ways to brighten the day with colorful fresh flowers in my home, or by pulling out some color from my wardrobe to add to an outfit.  Although, I’m a self proclaimed lover of neutrals, I do own a few pieces that can brighten up a neutral look, like this blue coat I bought some time ago.

This sky blue color caught my eye because it was not only soft and fresh, but I could also see myself pairing it with many of my wardrobe neutrals, like black, gray, and off white.  For a recent event, I paired this blue coat, with my Express Marled Extreme Hi-Low Hem Turtleneck, and my Piperlime Vegan Leather Pants.  I added my Sam Edelman Ciara Round Toe Pump, and my Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Mini Affair.  I really like adding a pop of color to neutrals because it’s a great way to change up a look and expand your wardrobe.  If you find yourself wanting to brighten up your neutrals, or if you own a lot of black and want to make your black outfits a little more exciting, try adding a pop of color or print to liven up the look.
