This season, I have been on the look out for timeless go-to wardrobe pieces, and today I am sharing one of those pieces that I love, the classic shirt dress.  This must-have dress style can be worn anywhere, and can easily be styled for any occasion.  The versatility of the shirt dress is what makes it such a go-to piece in any wardrobe, as it can easily be styled and worn to work with a classic pair of pumps, or worn as a casual weekend outfit with flats or sandals.  Here’s why the super shirt dress is a spring and summer wardrobe weapon.

It’s Very Versatile – The shirt dress can easily transition from a work outfit to a casual weekend outfit with the quick change of a shoe and/or other accessories.

It’s Super Easy To Style – Because there aren’t numerous pieces involved with the shirt dress, it’s easy to style in a variety of ways.  Add a classic pump to wear to work, or pair it with flats or sandals for a casual on the go look.

It’s Figure Flattering – Shirt dresses come in a variety of styles that are figure flattering for all body types.  Because they can be bought or styled belted or as a more shift dress look, they fit and compliment any figure.

It’s An Easy Travel Piece – Because it’s a versatile outfit in one piece, it is easy and lightweight to pack for travel.  Also, with the various styling options, you can pack and wear it for different occasions, styling this one piece wonder in a different look each time.

If you don’t own a shirt dress, this is a great time of year to add one to your wardrobe.  There are many choices out there, and you can certainly find one that fits your style.  I love this Ann Taylor Lacey Linen shirt dress.  I styled it for a more casual look, but I will certainly pair it with a pump for a meeting.  One of my favorite sandal styles is the wedge sandal.  This Hinge Wedge Sandal is so great, because for me, I can wear them with almost anything.  I will not only wear them with this shirt dress, but I will be wearing them with a maxi dress, ankle pants, jeans, and pairing them many other ways.  This color is also perfect for an easy go-to shoe.  The color is a neutral shade that can be worn with any other color and pull together any outfit.  Now, lastly, the bag.  This one has appeared on the blog before.  My love for any animal print made this Rebecca Minkoff bag a must have for me, and I use it quite often.  The size is perfect, and it is yet another piece that can serve as a neutral and be paired with anything or any outfit.
