Regardless of where you live, when fall weather arrives, it is the perfect time of year to have a go to trench to wear.  This season, my go to trench is this trench cape, that is perfect for fall temperatures and unpredictable seasonal weather.  This trench cape is an ideal outer wear piece because its classic styling makes it a piece that is sure to always be in style.  It can be worn over any look, and it has a water resistant finish that will come in handy for wet weather days.

Now, for the lifestyle component of this post, from cartoon characters, action figures, and movies, women in capes have become somewhat associated with the super woman moniker, and at some point in our lives, let’s face it, we’ve all wished we could put on a cape, and quickly tackle all of life’s to do’s, but we know this is only in the movies.  We all know that this superwoman thing by most definitions is unrealistic, and while doing some research for this post, I read that trying to be a superwoman, and attempting to do it all, can actually make you less productive.  So, how do we squash this superwoman syndrome, get things done, and have time for the things that are most important to us in life, our families…here are three quick tips that might be helpful.

Prioritize And Figure Out What To Focus On – The quickest way to become overwhelmed is to try to do too many things at one time, and the best way to avoid being overwhelmed is to determine what you are trying to accomplish, and write down a few small steps you can take each day to get it done.

Don’t Be Afraid To Delegate And Ask For Help – One of the reasons most people do not delegate is the fear of losing control, but at the same time you are also fearful of not getting everything done.  So, the best thing to do is to determine small tasks that you feel comfortable having someone else do.  This will allow you to maintain a sense of control, while also still moving in the right direction of tackling your tasks.

Be Sure To Take Time To Rest & Recover – Even though it can seem like taking some time to do nothing is impossible when we are staring at long lists of to do’s, little five minute breaks throughout the day, can go a long way in making you more productive in the long run.  If the time is not right for a vacation, or a weekend getaway, simply try taking a few minutes during each day to do something that you enjoy, or better yet, to just do nothing at all.

I hope today’s post has given you a good look at this trench cape, and also provided you with a few ways to squash the super woman syndrome.  For today’s look, I paired my trench cape, with my light grey turtleneck, and my flare corduroys.  I accessorized with my leopard print pumps and my Louis Vuitton Pouchette bag.  You can shop the items in this post, by clicking the links above in “Outfit Details,” by clicking the photos below in “Shop This Post”, or you can visit the Shop Style Page here.
