One of my favorite colors of the fall/winter season has been wine, and the vintage, earthy, full body feel of this color, to me, gives a slight nod to another one of my favorites red wine.  I’ve been a fan of this rich, bold color, since it hit the scenes last year, as the “It color” of 2015, and, since visiting Napa last summer, red wine has quickly earned a special place in my wine cellar.   I recently combined my two favorites for a gathering with friends, and it was super fun pairing this color with other neutrals and different textures.

I love this wine color because, to me, it’s a bold pop of neutral, that can be paired with almost any other color imaginable.  It works well with everything from neutrals like off L1000035white, camel, black and gray to more powerful colors like navy, fuchsia and pops of pink.  This popular color goes by many names, merlot, burgundy, oxblood, and bordeaux, and if you happen to spill a little red wine while indulging, no worries, you’ll still be on trend, sporting one of winter’s hottest colors.  This lovely wine color is also both practical and functional, so, if you’re into matching your nail polish and lipstick with your clothing, you’ll easily find wine shades of both, as they are all the rage as well.

If you’re loving this color like me, try incorporating it into your wardrobe by thinking of items you already have in your closet that will compliment this deep maroon hue for easy styling and versatility, or go with two pieces of the same shade for a tone on tone wine pairing.
