  • A Hormone Balancing Breakfast Idea

    I know you’ve often heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and this becomes even more true as we age.  Nutrition and diet (what you eat), is an important part of managing some of the midlife changes women 40 & over experience, and many of these changes are due to hormone imbalance.  This breakfast option is not only quick and easy, but it also provides you with key ingredients and nutrients that are anti-inflammatory, cortisol-friendly, and insulin-friendly to help balance your hormones.

    Here’s the quick and easy overnight oats recipe:

    Ingredients

    1/2 cup rolled oats

    3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk

    1-2 teaspoons raw honey

    1-2 teaspoons bee pollen

    1-2 teaspoons chia seeds

    Instructions

    1.  Combine the oats, almond milk and raw honey in a bowl.  Stir ingredients to combine.
    2. Transfer oats mixture to a jar and seal.  Place in refrigerator overnight.
    3. The next morning, remove the jar from the refrigerator, stir the oats to mix the ingredients.  If the mixture is too thick, add a little more almond milk to get your desired consistency.
    4. Top with bee pollen and chia seeds.
