When it comes to summer tops, there is definitely not a shortage on the variety of styles, but let’s be honest, every style does not fit the personal style of everybody.  During the summer months, we all want to stay cool and comfortable, but we also want to wear pieces that are flattering for our particular body type.  The cold shoulder top is one top style that can be found in styles that look great on all body types, you just have to know which style to choose.

Picking the right cold shoulder top that is figure flattering for your specific body type may seem like a challenge, but because this top style is so rich in variety, it may not be as hard as you think.  So, in today’s “Style Guide,” I’m sharing a few tips on how to wear this top style for your body type.

Style Guide:  How To Wear The Cold Shoulder Top Style For Your Body Type

If You Have An Inverted Triangle Body Type – Try a v-neck or high neck version in a fitted or slightly fitted style to keep the eyes focused upwards.

If You Have An Apple Body Type – A flowy or loose fitting cold shoulder top will work best for you, as it takes attention away from the mid-section.

If You have A Triangle/Pear Body Type – To balance out your body and accentuate your upper body, look for bright prints, butterfly sleeves and tops with details.

If You Have An Hourglass Body Type – The focus should be on your waist.  Pick cold shoulder tops that are fitted in the waist or that can be tucked or belted.

If You Have A Rectangle/Boyish Body Type – The important thing is to create some curves.  This can be easily accomplished with tops with ruffles or that are belted to create a smaller waist, and to give your body more shape.
