Well, now that I have officially relaunched my blog, and added some categories that I previously covered when I first started blogging in 2015, I thought a good way to start my first blog post in a while is to start with the “What’s.” In today’s post, I want to bring you up to speed on what I’ve been doing, what is a lifestyle blog, now that I’ve transitioned my blog from primarily a health and wellness blog to a lifestyle blog, and to also share a brief introduction into my midlife fashion/style, by sharing a few of my thoughts about what to wear this fall.
So, let’s start with what I’ve been doing. Over the last few months, I’ve not only been reorganizing the “Your Midlife Maven” website and social media to include new categories focused on the lifestyles of midlife women, but I’ve also been working on and launching a few of my own personal brands and working to grow those brands. I’ll be sharing more about that in future posts. In addition, I’ve also been listening to you all, my social media followers and blog readers, by asking poll questions in my Instagram and Facebook stories, so I could clearly understand what you want to see more of as I rebrand and relaunch the “Your Midlife Maven” platform dedicated to midlife women. Many thanks to you all for your input, and as you will see through the continued roll out of this rebrand, I’ve been listening closely to your feedback.
Now, let’s talk about what is a lifestyle blog. A lifestyle blog is typically a platform where the author (me) shares personal experiences, interests and insights on various aspects of everyday life. Lifestyle blogs typically cover a variety of topics, and “Your Midlife Maven Lifestyle” will cover health and wellness, fashion and style, beauty and skincare, and travel and leisure all from a midlife perspective, with information, tools and products and services to serve as a resource for midlife women (ages 40+). “Your Midlife Maven Lifestyle” will also strive to serve as inspiration and guidance for those looking to improve their daily living or who simply want to enjoy my perspective on the different lifestyle topics covered. In addition to sharing my own personal brands that I mentioned previously, I have and will continue to partner with other brands for promotions and product recommendations to further benefit midlife women and their overall lifestyles.
With many of you expressing your interest in midlife fashion/style in the social media polls, and some of you asking me why I stopped sharing my personal style and specifically sharing my thoughts and recommendations on midlife fashion/style, this is a category I’m excited to bring back. Since we have now officially entered the Fall season, I thought this is a good time to briefly share my thoughts on what to wear this fall, and to give you an idea of what to expect from me as it relates to my personal style. It’s safe to say that my personal midlife style has evolved to be more focused on classic styles, including prints and patterns, more neutral color pallets, and most importantly timeless pieces. If you’re looking to refresh your Fall wardrobe, look for quality pieces that can be layered, that are versatile, that can be dressed up or down, that are timeless, and that you can see yourself wearing for years to come. For a somewhat casual fall look, think chic trench coats, cashmere or merino wool sweaters, classic white shirts/blouses, and stylish comfortable bottoms (wide or straight legged), paired with stylish loafers, boots or kitten heel shoes to give your fall look a clean and classic feel. As I share my personal style with you, my goal will be to share styles that accommodate all budgets, and that will give you ideas and options when adding pieces to your wardrobe and creating looks that fit your own personal midlife style.
For the look in today’s post, I’ve combined a classic print and piece, the leopard blazer, and I’ve paired it with a versatile fall piece, a leather jumpsuit, that to me creates a perfect fall look for an evening out, a happy hour or more casual cocktail event, an informal dinner event or many other occasions. I personally love combining leopard print with leather, as it not only elevates a leather piece, but it also adds a touch of class and sophistication that you may be looking for in your personal midlife style. You can shop the specific pieces in this look or similar options when the exact piece is no longer available, in the photos below. Also, if you’re not currently subscribed to the “Your Midlife Maven Lifestyle” weekly newsletter “Livelle,” you can access my midlife “Fall Style Guide” with shopping links included, that I recently created and shared with my newsletter subscribers, by clicking the link here. The “Fall Style Guide” includes fall outwear, tops, bottoms and shoe picks for a variety of budgets and the perfect midlife style.
I hope you enjoyed catching up with me and reading about what I’ve been up to. I look forward to continuing to share more with you going forward and to continuing on this midlife journey together.
