Although I haven’t worn many skirts and dresses on the blog lately, mainly because I have not had an occasion to do so, and I really try to share pieces that reflect what I’m wearing in my day to day life, but when it comes to skirts or dresses, my preferred style is the midi.  I love the midi length because regardless of the silhouette or fabric, there is something about this length that has a lady-like look and feel to it.

For this meeting day look, I wore my cream coat, with my cream flutter sleeve top, and my faux leather midi skirt.  I accessorized with my lace up booties, and my quilted crossbody bag.  Because I love black and white, choosing how to style this black midi skirt for my meeting was a breeze.  Not only do I love the length of this skirt, I also love the wrap style with the slit, I feel it adds another dimension to the skirt, and expands the styling options for day and evening looks.  When many people hear the words midi skirt, they immediately think dowdy, and this skirt is a perfect example of how midi skirts are not always what you may think.  Because midi skirts often get a bad rap, in today’s “Style Guide,” I’m sharing a few tips for wearing your midi skirt with style.

Style Guide:  Tips For Wearing Your Midi Skirt With Style

Add A Statement Shoe – Because of the length, opt for a heel instead of a flat, and go for a little drama like a lace up bootie to add even more style to your outfit.

Go For Unexpected Fabrics Or Prints – Inject some texture like leather or suede, or an unusual pattern or print like plaid or florals for a statement making ensemble.

Dare To Add Details – Pick pieces with perfectly placed details like the hook and snap detail on the wrap style skirt I’m wearing to elevate the look.

Sport A Slit – A slit is not what you typically think of when you think of a midi skirt, so this unexpected feature, will definitely give your midi a stylish vibe.

If you like the midi skirt, but were unsure about how style it with a little flare, I hope today’s “Style Guide” tips were helpful.  You can shop the items in this post by clicking the links above in “Outfit Details”, or you can visit the Shop Fashion Page here.  Also, you can shop Lulu With Grace partner sales and promotions here
